Board your water taxi at Awaroa, cruising the coastline via Tonga Marine Reserve. Go ashore at Anchorage Beach, a great spot for a picnic & swim or enjoy the 1.5 hour self-guided Pitt Head loop scenic walking track. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of sailing and sightseeing on your return to Kaiteriteri.
For those wishing to explore the Park further, arrangements can be made for an alternative morning water taxi pick up. Enjoy a self-guided walk through lush native forest following the coastal track from Awaroa Lodge to Tonga Quarry, your luggage transfer taken care of.
Spectacular scenery and sightseeing, expect to see secluded coves, golden sand beaches, pristine clear waters and native wildlife. Learn about the Abel Tasman National Park, its history, features and highlights, visit Tonga Marine Reserve and stop at the famous Split Apple Rock for photos. Sit back and relax or have a go at sailing - you decide!
Note: This is a one way transfer between Awaroa Lodge and Kaiteriteri at the end of your stay and does not include your ticket travelling to the lodge. Accommodation not included in ticket price.
- Meeting Place and Time: 10:40 am, Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle, on Awaroa Beach.
- Departs & Returns from: 11 am Awaroa Beach, Return at 4:30 pm to Kaiteriteri Beach.
- What's included: 3 hour skippered afternoon sailing tour, a packed picnic lunch, complimentary tea & coffee on board catamaran, 45 minute morning water taxi journey, bag transfers.
